Twilight is not just a story.
Twilight is its own world where you can escape in when reality is too dark to dream.
Twilight is not that dark. try reading some actual Gothic fiction before you make that claim. It is a love story pretty much like a thousand out there already but with fake vampires that sparkle in the sunlight. It is not dark it is not interesting it is just stupid. Stupid stupid stupid. Read a real vampire book and you would never think this book is dark.
Agreed. The twilight book in itself is okay.
The fans on this website
slit your throat annoying
Twilight is a story. Nothing more.
You've got it! Just one correction: Change "Twilight" to "Harry Potter"
Wrong. The world of Harry Potter is THE world where you can escape to when you're down.
kindof like lord of the rings... only not as good
Yes, Harry Potter is the REAL world of its own. Twilight is just a feeble attempt to slip the supernatural into high school. There is no substance to the story. If you read Harry Potter, a small comment in the first chapter could be the key factor in the last book. Twilight is just an overrated wet dream.
Babe, you need to start reading better books. Twilight is an excellent example of TERRIBLE writing. I don't believe for one second that Stephanie Meyer ACTUALLY earned the BA in English she has. Think of it this way: Plenty of scholars love analyzing books like Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, and Lord of the Rings. NO SCHOLAR WILL EVER ANALYZE TWILIGHT. HPAW, You couldn't be more right.
There are two worlds where you can escape to, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
Twilight is just like your life, but it involves fairies who think they are vampires and shapshifters who are deranged enough to think they can be called werewolves.
If you all hate Twilight so much or think Harry Potter's better; why are you even here?
If you're here to post negative comments; just leave.
It's true though; Twilight is not just a story.
No way. Get a life, or at least, a proper English teacher.
@Emma.: to make fun of the idiots who believe that Twilight a decent piece of literature; let alone it's own world. Yet, I don't believe that there will ever be a Twilight Theme Park invented... or two Twilight based musicals... or 7+ books.... or 8 movies... or a worldwide fanbase that has to do with more than the attractive male stars. No, definitely not. Because see, Harry Potter is a theme and story everyone can relate to. A story about friendship, courage, a classic good vs evil story with incredible parallels to today's world. Harry is character who has the pressure of saving the world from an era of torture, murder, despair, and prejudice, but who is, nevertheless, a teenage boy. He has the problems that come with having to defeat Lord Voldemort, but also problems we all are/have/will deal with at some point in life about friendship, crushes, school, etc. He's a character that EVERYONE can relate to. Meanwhile, Bella Swan is an irksome, miserable, complaining, depressed young woman that, for some reason, everyone is in love with, but cannot get friends of her own species. The theme of the book? There really isn't one. The theme is how everyone loves Bella, but Bella can't be grateful for anything. It isn't even it's own world; it's about today's world. And vampires. And werewolves. All in today's world.
The reason we're on the Twilight website is purely to make fun of the teenage fangirls that believe that this is a classic novel, and the make them see otherwise with our firm and well-backed evidence. The reason you aren't on our Harry Potter website is because you have no evidence that Twilight is better.
Because it truly isn't.
Warm regards,
GoodFinder101
This is probably the most pathetic post I have read thus far, well there are a couple exceptions.... but even so. Read Stephan King and Micheal Crichton, that is dark.
No, Harry Potter is it's own world. Twilight is toilet paper.
Actually, teamjoewalker, it's not toilet paper. It's firewood.
Pretty much any fiction book, if you're really into it, can take you into another world. And GoodFinder101, I do believe you are my HOTP (hero of the post) :).
Well...it's obvious you cannot face reality...Man to say Twilight is not just a story when it obviously is...Such a shame that you obviously like to go into a world full of stalkers, and people who "sparkle".
@teamidontgiveacrap: Very impressive paragraph there. You have my respect. My story is different, and even though you probably don't care about it, I might as well tell it anyway. I read Harry Potter & almost immediately got hooked on it. Then I read Twilight later. I can't say I liked it much even to begin with. I didn't HATE it, though. I found this site through MLIA (My Life is Average) and decided to check it out. After seeing some of the stories (making out with a dog, breaking up with their boyfriend because he wasn't enough like Edward, etc.) I decided to make an account & try to get them to realize that they have an unhealthy obsession... but like so many others here, I ended up just insulting them. I did this for awhile, but eventually some friends of mine found out & convinced me to knock it off (and some of the defenders here actually helped with that, too). I decided to just leave the fans alone (other than posting the occasional non-insulting HP comment). Sometimes I'll even defend some of the fans. I still have the username GiveUsBackCedric because, well, I don't know if it's possible to change it (and if it is, I have no idea how). Ok, so if you (or anyone else) actually bothered to read this, then now you know my story, & hopefully no one thinks of me as traitor. Oh, but here's some advice: if you're sick of the trolls insulting everyone, it's better to leave them alone. Yelling, arguing, or even just talking nicely back at them just fuels the flames. It's better to just ignore them.
