They think they have some God given right to judge us based on the fact that we have read Twilight and liked it. This is ridiculous. I am a long time Harry Potter fan, and yet I am so embarassed by my own fandom. I am a guy, and I admit I am not a Twilight fan. My girlfriend on the other hand is. She is by no means any of the things you guys say Twilight fans are, she just graduated college with a degree in business admin. and has already landed a better job than me lol. She puts up with me, and that should be enough to show how amazing she really is. Her and her friends get together and have a blast talking/watching Twilight and gossiping about all the lives of the cast members. They have a lot of fun doing their thing, so who are we to say anything about it. Especially when you can find me doing the same things with my buddies, just about different things. The cruelty you people show to these Twilight fans is really uncalled for. I honestly feel ashamed to be associated with Harry Potter and the fandom.

The reason there is so much contempt for Twilight is because so many people are putting so much importance in something so meaningless, and are exaggerating it's quality. If feeding the hungry of the world became popular, you wouldn't see a whole bunch of people hating on the activists because it 'can't be done'. You know why? Because it deserves the importance. I honestly am starting to think that the guy who started this site may have done it just to watch these fights break out. Go ahead and like twilight, but don't make such a big deal out of it. You wanna know what overlike of movies does? There have been people that have killed themselves, leaving a suicide note saying that they felt worthless because nobody loved them as much as they did Edward, or Jacob, or Bella, or anyone in those movies. Then the other side of the spectrum, there are kids who have killed themselves because they didn't feel special because they couldn't use magic like Harry Potter. They felt that they had a rough childhood like he did, but didn't get any reprieve like he did, so they offed themselves. That's what overblowing popular things does.

The only website I found that said anything about someone committing suicide because of Twilight was RIDICULOUS (http://www.landoverbaptist.org/2008/december/twilight.html). Just look at who owns the website, their slogan, and the ads they have. They clearly have an agenda. And not only does it not sound like a real article, even if it were true, I'm pretty sure that girl would be messed up because of her family, their beliefs, and the way they treated her...not because of a book or movie. Like Robsten said, check your facts.

Ok, this is my final post on this website. I guess you can say I’ve seen the light. It’s now very apparent to me that no matter what any of us Twilight fans say or do it remains impossible to reach you guys who hate. I tried my hardest to remain mature and respectful in every comment I made, even through the extremely hurtful things that were said about fans of Twilight. I only hope one day you guys will open your eyes and see how ignorant and juvenile your comments on this website are and learn from it. There really is no need for the hate and there is no need to degrade people for simply expressing their love for a book/movie. I really appreciate those of you who are not fans of Twilight who stood up for the right thing; it’s really good to know some people still know how to show respect. Like I said, this is my last comment, I will still visit the site and read the stories and laugh like always, but I’m done with the comments. I advise other fans to do the same. Don’t fuel the fire and take the higher road out, let’s show we are the ones with class.

@Movieman- Nobody has commited suicide and even if they had it also saved someone from commiting suicide. There was a story on average wizard that said they were about to shoot themselves but decided to read HP and Deathly Hallows, and then decided not to commit suicide anymore.

Or maybe the one where someone dumped their boyfriend just because they bit the person, who ended up not turning into a vampire. You can stand for twilight, but it brings relationships crashing down because the guy is not as good as some fictional sparkly stalker
